Solution:

Number of student who do not know either Hind or English

= \frac{3}{4}

⇒ Number of students who know either Hindi or English

= 1 - \frac{3}{4} = \frac{1}{4}

⇒ Total number of students who know English and Hindi

= \frac{1}{6} + \frac{1}{8} = \frac{7}{24}

∴ Number of students who know both English and Hindi $= \frac{7}{24} - \frac{1}{4} = \frac{1}{24}$
