Piedmont Swamp Soil- found in the northwestern section of west Champaran district and Paddy cultivation is prevalent in this soil.
Terai Soil- found in the northern section of the State near the Nepal border.
Gangetic Alluvium- It spreads across the maximum area in Bihar and is formed primarily because of the sediment saved by the Indo-Gangetic-Brahmaputra streams. Rice, sugarcane, tobacco, cotton, jute etc. yield in this soil.
