Dandi March also called Salt March or Salt Satyagraha was a major nonviolent protest action in India led by Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi in 1930. Covering the distance of 386km from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi on foot, the 62 -year-old Gandhi was first joined by hundreds and then thousands on his way. The march was the first act in an even-larger campaign of civil disobedience (satyagraha).
