- The Saiyyad dynasty was the fourth dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate. Khizr Khan was the founder of Saiyyad Dynasty. - Khizr Khan was the first ruler of Saiyyad dynasty who ruled Delhi from 1414 to 1421 AD. At the time of death of the last Tughlaq, Nasir-ud-Din Mahmud Shah Tughlaq, Timur's deputy in India and the Governor of Multan, Khizr Khan marched to Delhi and defeated Daulat Khan, the military head and occupied the throne. This led to the rise of the fourth dynasty in power of the Delhi Sultanate.
