Mughal painting reached its zenith under Jahangir. He patronized many great painters like Mansoon, Abul Hasan, Daswant and Basawan. Mughal painting is a particular style of South Asian painting confined to miniatures either as book illustrations or as single works to be kept in albums. It emerged from Persian miniature painting, and developed largely in the court of the Mughal Empire of the 16 th to 18 th centuries.
