Megasthenese was the first foreigner to visit India in 320BC−298BC. He was the ambassador of Seleucus Nikator and he visited India during the reign of Chandragupta Maurya. He was also the author of the book Indica. Fahien visited India in 405 AD - 411 AD during the reign of Vikramaditya. He is known for his visit to Lumbini and his voyage is described in his travelogue Records of Buddhist Kingdom. Hiuen Tsang visited India in 360AD−645AD during the supremacy of Harshavardhana. The book written by him was Si-yu ki or The Records of the Western World. I Ching (I Tsing) was a Chinese traveller who visited India in 671AD−695AD.
