Co-operative learning methods is one of the examples of Group Activities involving team work. This method can be used/organized regularly for various subjects like Maths, Science, Social science & Languages. In order to develop in students the skills of cooperation,belongingness & team spirit & to reduce individual competition amongst them, the teacher should adopt the cooperative learning method. Co-operative Learning is not individual learning but group learning or peer learning. In co-operative learning, students work together to achieve a common goal. There is greater participation & involvement of the students in a Co-operative Learning. Co-operative Learning generates more intrinsic motivation than does individualized learning. The feeling of belongingness produces positive attitudes &team spirit in the students. Co-operative Learning is specifically useful for learning various skills & knowledge. The teacher should therefore be familiar with the process of organizing cooperative learning in her class or school.
