He has become the youngest MP to get the Sansad Ratna Award 2020
The Lok Sabha member from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh is the only Telugu MP to have got this award.
Ram Mohan Naidu has been nominated for the ‘Jury Committee Special Award’ for his overall qualitative performance and individual efforts.
Across India, 8 MPs from Lok Sabha and 2 MPs from Rajya Sabha were recognized through these awards for their performance in the year 2019-20.
Other MPs who have been recognized are Shashi Tharoor (Kerala), Dr. Nishikant Dubey (Jharkhand) , and Ajay Misra (UP).
The awardees were selected by a three-member Jury Committee chaired by Arjun Ram Meghwal , Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
The other two members are parliamentarians N. K. Premachandran and Shrirang Appa Barne.
Mr. Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJD, Cuttack, Odisha), Mrs. Supriya Sule (NCP, Baramati, Maharashtra), and Mr. Shrirang Appa Barne (Shiv Sena,Maval, Maharashtra) will be receiving the coveted 'Sansad Maha Ratna Award' for their sustained qualitative performance in the 16th Lok Sabha.
This award is presented once in five years .
