Translation is the process of synthesising polypeptides by polymerisation of amino acids from information contained in mRNA. During translation, the adapter molecules called tRNA are complexed with amino acids (aminoacylation). The tRNAs carry the amino acids to the site of protein synthesis. The mRNA molecules are also transported to the site of protein synthesis (ribosomes) through a highly organised enzyme-mediated process. RNA interference is a process by which a complementary double-stranded RNA is formed in order to silence an mRNA. This prevents the mRNA from further translating into protein as double-stranded RNA molecules cannot be translated.
