The pulmonary artery pumps blood from the heart of the lungs. The pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs. It is one of the only arteries (other than the umbilical arteries in the foetus) that carries deoxygenated blood. The pressure of blood in the pulmonary artery (PA pressure) is a measure of the blood pressure found in the pulmonary artery. This is measured by inserting a catheter into the pulmonary artery. The right ventricle pumps blood into the pulmonary artery. So, blood pressure in pulmonary artery is more than vein.
