The period from 1924 to 1935 can be regarded as the era of revolutionary trade union movement in India. Leaders that were associated with trade union movements include N.M Joshi, Dewan Chaman Lal, V.V Giri . Swami Sahajanand was a social reformer who was not associated with the trade union movement. He founded the Kisan Sabha movement in Bihar in order to mobilise peasant grievances against the zamindari attacks on their occupancy rights, and thus sparking the farmers' movements in India.
