Reformulated gasoline is a type of fuel which is used to reduce automobile emissions of ozone forming volatile organic compounds during winter seasons. Reformulated gasoline requires a minimum of 2.1% of oxygen. To oxygenate the fuel the following substances are added to the fuel-Ethanol, Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE), Ethyl Tertiary Buthyl Ether (ETBE) and Tertiary Amyl Methyl Ether (TAME).
