In 1904, V.D. Savarkar had organised the Abhinava Bharat, a secret society of revolutionaries.
After the partition of Bengal, several developments came into fore by the revolutionary leaders, Abhinav Bharat was one of the beginnings in this direction.
Other major initiatives were adopted like several newspapers had begun to advocate revolutionary terrorism, The Sandhya and the Yugantar in Bengal and the Kal in Maharashtra were the most prominent among them.
