The Second Battle of Tarain(Taraori) was fought between the force led by Muhammad Ghori and the Rajput army led by Prithviraj Chauhan in 1192 near the town of Tarain which is 14 miles from Thanesar in present-day Haryana. The second battle of Tarain is a landmark in the history of India. In this battle, Muhammad Ghori ultimately succeeded by defeating Prithviraj Chauhan. In the first battle of Tarian, Muhammed Ghori had lost the battle. After the defeat,Muhammad Ghori further prepared to strengthen his position. He reappeared in 1192 A.D.
