The Walker Cup is associated with Golf. The trophy took place on years that were odd. Professional Golfers were divided into two teams the United States Of America and the United Kingdom countries(Great Britain and Ireland).
Walker Cup was officially established in 1922. But, In the year 1921, the Royal Liverpool Golf Club hosted an unofficial contest which was followed by official Annual competitions from 1922 to 1924. From 1925 they became biennial, held on years which were even.
The Walker Cup is named after George Herbert Walker who was the President of the United States Golf Association (USGA) in 1920 when the match was initiated. George Herbert Walker is the Grandfather of George H. W. Bush (41st) and the Great Grandfather of George W. Bush (43rd) President of The USA.
The format of the game is Match Play format. The First match of the tournament was officially played on 21st May 1922 between The USA and Great Britain at Royal Liverpool Club.
The current winner of the last edition of this trophy: United States of America (2019).
