The “Wings of Fire” is an autobiography of the former Indian President and renowned scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
It was originally published in 1999 in both English and Malayalam language.
Dr. Kalam examined India’s journey to self Reliance on technology through this book.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11th president of India.
He was an Aerospace scientist and a pioneer in ballistic missile and Space Launch Vehicle Technology.
He was the director of the SLV -III project which aimed are designing India's first indigenously build satellite launch vehicle.
This earned him the title of a missile man.
He also came up with a technological vision - India 2020: A vision of the new Millennium which aimed at transforming India into a developed nation by 2020.
He was awarded the highest civilian honour in India that is the Bharat Ratna in 1997 for his contribution to the scientific research and modernization of Defence Technology.
