The Battles of Tarain (Battles of Taraori) were series of two battles fought in 1191 and 1192 AD between Prithviraj Chauhan and Muhammad Ghori. In the first Battle of Tarain, Prithviraj Chauhan won against Muhammad Ghori. In the second Battle of Tarain, Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated by Muhammad Ghori. This battle is regarded as the turning point in India's history which finally led to the foundation of Delhi.
