Jaipur, a city in Rajasthan has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage site list in July 2019.
The city of Jaipur has been planned according to the Prastara Plan of Vastu Shastra i.e- a treatise of traditional Hindu architecture.
It is among one of the most important cities of the medieval period which shows the ancient Hindu, Mughal and Contemporary Western ideas which resulted in the customized layout of the city.
It has created a difference from other medieval cities with its ordered and a grid-like structure such as broad streets, crossing at right angles, earmarked sites for buildings, Palaces, Havelis, Temples, and Gardens, etc. thus ensuring that a uniform facade is maintained in the city.
