Dhansiri originates from the Laisang peak of Nagaland and flows through the Golaghat District of Assam and the Dimapur District of Nagaland and finally joins the Brahmaputra river at Dhansirimukh.
The Brahmputra river originates from the Mansarovar Lake Region near Mount Kailash and flows through China, India, and Bangladesh and joins Padma(Ganges) in Bangladesh.
The world's largest river island lies in the Brahmputra river named as "Majuli" as recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records and it is the first river Island in India.
