Bastille Day is celebrated as the National Day in France and it is also celebrated in Various Countries other than France, including India in Pondicherry on 14th July.
Pondicherry was under the French dominance for a period of 300 years and thus the blend of west and east can be felt cherishing, which unites to form a new tradition.
Daman & Diu was held by the Portuguese along with Goa and Dadra & Nagar Haveli even after the independence of India till 1961 when Daman & Diu, as well as Goa, was made an integral part of India.
Lakshadweep was also a part of the Indian subcontinent which was held under the Danish Colonisation of Denmark.
