MgCl2 and
BaCl2 both have van't Hoff factor (i) three. Hence, more the ions are dissociated from a single formula unit, more will be value of
i.
[i∝∆Ti]∴∆Ti= colligative properties
Hence, higher the value of
i, more will be colligative properties for the same concentration.
For NaCl; van't Hoff factor is
i=2, so, it has lesser colligative properties than
MgCl2 and
BaCl2.
=> Order of colligative properties, for the same concentration :
MgCl2=BaCl2>NaCl2.
