Research objectives describe what the study is expected to achieve, and are usually expressed as the statement of purpose or associated with the hypothesis in a language easily discernible to a lay person. Research objectives are stated in the very beginning, in the first chapter itself. Analytical ability is not a prerequisite for any research. A researcher only has to follow the research methodology/design and use the prescribed techniques to complete a study successfully. Variability is the extent to which data points in a statistical distribution or data set diverge from the average, or mean, value as well as the extent to which these data points differ from each other. There are four commonly used measures of variability: range, mean, variance and standard deviation. Research is oriented towards solving the problem of variability.
