The vital roles one is expected to play in society are not restricted to those of a friend, philosopher and guide only; several other roles are vital too. The teacher is ideally a reformer in the classroom, moulding students into individuals who are capable of reforming the society. He plays a friend, philosopher and guide to his students transmitting high value of humanity to them so that they may transmit the same further to the society at large. Patriotism involves different set of roles and responsibilities not directly related to a teacher’s role.
