(b) Sharada Act fixed the minimum age of marriage of girls and boys,respectively as 14 and 18. Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929,passed on 28th September, 1929,fixed the age of marriage for girls at 14 years and that of boys at 18 years, which later were amended to 18 years for girls and 21 for boys, It was known as Sharda Act after its sponsor Harbilas Sharda.
