(c) Chakla was a district level administrative division in Indian subcontinent during Mughal period.This type of administrative system was in practice at least in Bengal and Awadh provinces. It was the major administrative division in a province or Subah. It was further subdivided into Pargnahs; each Pargnah was consisting of several villages. Sarkar was a division of a Subah or province. It was further divided into Mahallas.
