The Satavahana kingdom majorly comprised present Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana. At times, their rule also included parts of Gujarat, Karnataka as well as Madhya Pradesh. Simuka was the founder of the Satavahana dynasty. Hence, statement (1) is correct. The Junagarh inscription gives the information about the Sudharshana lake that the lake was an artificial reservoir, was built by the Mauryan emperors for checking floods.
