Gender Mainstreaming (GM) was established as a major globalstrategy for the promotion of gender equality in the Beijing Platform for Action from the Fourth United Nations World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995. GM tries, among others, to ascertain a gender equality perspective across all policy areas. The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), adopted in 1979 by theUN General Assembly, is often described as an international bill ofrights for women. Hence, statement (d) is not an aspect of GenderMainstreaming.
