The appeals from the provincial council were allowed if the case amount was more than ` 1000. So, the appeal went to Sadar Diwani Adalat. In other words, this Adalat was mainly meant to settle mercantile cases exceeding ` 1000 in value (and not ` 10000). Thus, the statement (3) is incorrect. Many procedural improvements were put into place, some of them being: 1. All the cases were heard in the open court; 2. All the courts were ordered to maintain registers and records; and 3. Any case older than 12 years was not accepted. So, the statement (4) is also incorrect.
