Statement (d) is not true about the Convention on the Eliminationof all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) becauseIndia signed CEDAW on 30th July, 1980 and ratified it on 9th July,1993 and entered into force on 8th August, 1993. CEDAW was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1979. This treaty has been described as the International Bill of Rights for Women. It is a comprehensive treaty on the rights of women and establishes legally binding obligations on the State Parties to follow the legal standards set by it to end discrimination against women and its goal is to achieve equality between men andwomen.
