NCERT: The National Council of Educational Research and Training ( NCERT ) is an autonomous organization set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programs for qualitative improvement in school education. The major objectives of NCERT and its constituent units are to undertake, promote and coordinate research in areas related to school education ; prepare and publish model textbooks supplementary material, newsletters , journals, and develop educational kits, multimedia digital materials , etc. organize the pre-service and in-service training of teachers. develop and disseminate innovative educational techniques and practices. collaborate and network with state educational departments, universities, NGOs, and other educational institutions. act as a clearinghouse for ideas and information in matters related to school education. act as a nodal agency for achieving the goals of Universalisation of Elementary Education . AICTE: It was set up in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body . Its purpose was to conduct a survey on the facilities available for technical education and to promote development in the country in a coordinated and integrated manner. UGC: It is a statutory body set up in 1956. It is charged with the coordination, determination, and maintenance of standards of higher education. It provides recognition to universities in India and disburses funds to such recognized universities and colleges . ICMR: ICMR is India’s apex scientific body for the formulation, coordination, and promotion of biomedical research. The ICMR functions under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Its Governing Body is presided over by Health Minister.
