Sub.: Expressing concern over the chaotic conditions in the casualty ward
Sir,
Iwould like to express my anguish and pain at the chaotic conditions prevalent in the casualty ward of your esteemed hospital. Carrying a victim of a hit and run accident, I expected to see immediate action and treatment for the victim. However, I was rewarded with delay, chaos in the casualty ward and scant attentive attitude of the staff on call. This is to draw the attention of the lethargic authorities to initiate some steps to improve the situation.
While walking home, I witnessed a hit and run accident that took place in front of me. The man was bleeding profusely and despite giving him first aid, we couldn't stop the bleeding. At that stage, I took the responsibility of safely admitting the victim to the hospital. We were soon in for a rude shock. As we reached there, we did not find anyone at the emergency so much so there was no doctor or nurse at the counter. Prodding further, we found a group of nurses out on their tea break in this grave situation. The hygiene and the cleanliness were at their worst and the number of patients asking to be helped was high. As a result, treatment was extremely delayed due to which the victim unfortunately lost a limb.
This callousness of the hospital staff and chaotic conditions can cost the life of a person. What is the use of having a local hospital in a posh location when treatment cannot be given at the right time? I hope that your good-self takes heed of this situation and brings about changes in the hospital that will help the people. I am anticipating a positive reply and a change for the best.
Thanking you
Yours truly,
Deepa/Deepak
