As per last census, the literacy rate in India was around 74 % . In our day-to-day life, we find people who cannot even read or write. Looking at the gravity of the situation you decide to deliver a speech in your school's morning assembly on the topic, 'Each One, Teach One'. Write your speech in 150-200 words. You are Vinitha/Bejo.
Solution:
EACH ONE, TEACH ONE
Good Morning to one and all. Today, I Vinitha/ Bejo, would like to express my views on the slogan - 'Each one, Teach one'. It is important for the educated class to understand their moral and social responsibility to teach at least one illiterate person and make a difference in society.
Government policies and laws can promise many rights to the underprivileged children and make attempts to eliminate or reduce disparities, but it is a fact that many children are deprived of the right to education.
If we want children of all classes, even from poor families, to be literate and aware of their basic health and hygiene and to grow up as educated citizens, we must move forward on their behalf. It is our social responsibility to share our wealth of knowledge and learning with the least privileged section of the society.
It is true that the educated mass of the society that includes students, educated homemakers, professionals and students can play a vital role in the education of the disadvantaged children. The contribution of each individual can bring a significant positive change in the current state of illiteracy.
So, let's join hands and make India a totally literate country. Thank you and have a great day!
