Classification of industries on the basis of source of raw materials used:
(i) Agro based industries: Those industries which use agricultural products as raw materials are called agro based industries. E.g., cotton textile industry, sugar industry, etc.
(ii) Mineral based industries: Those industries that get their raw material from mineral ores are called mineral based industries. E.g., iron and steel industry, cement industry, etc.
