Role of regional parties in Indian democracy:
(i) They put forward the democracy: state at the national the interests of their possible move to secure and make every the people in their state.
(ii) It provides a political competition in the country and provides the chance for the regional parties to participate in national politics and exhibit influence.
(iii) The trend of coalition governments from 1989 started due to the stronghold of several regional parties like TMC, BSP, SP and many more. Some of the regional parties have even secured the status of national parties.
