(a) (i) As the pace of change has been rapid in modern times, long distance communication has become far easier without physical movement of the communicator or receiver.

(ii) The Subscriber Trunk Dialing (STD) telephone facility has marked as evolution in strengthening telecom network in India by integrating the development in space technology.
(iii) Mass communication a means of entertainment as well as means of creating awareness covers a wide range of products including television, newspapers, radio magazines, books and films.
(iv) All India Radio (Akashwani) broadcasts a variety of programmes in national, regional and local languages for various categories of people.
(v) Doordarshan, the national television channel of India, broadcasts a variety of programmes from entertainment, educational to sports, etc. for people of different age groups.
(vi) India in the largest producer of feature films in the world. It produces shorts films, video feature films and video short films.

(v) India has emerged as a software giant at the international level and it is earning large foreign exchange through the export of information technology.
