Ferrous sulphate solution and ferric sulphate solution. (using sodium hydroxide solution)

Solution:

Ferrous sulphate solution with sodium hydroxide solution gives a dirty green ppt of ferrous hydroxide Fe(OH)2 which is insuiuble in exess.
Whereas Ferric sulphate solution with sodium hydroxide solution gives a raddish brown precipitate of ferric hydroxide Fe(OH)3 .
