Question : 1
Total: 67
(i) Calculate the number of electrons which will together weigh one gram.
(ii) Calculate the mass and charge of one mole of electrons.
(ii) Calculate the mass and charge of one mole of electrons.
Solution:
(i) Mass of an electron is 9.109 × 10 – 31 kg.
1 g or10 − 3 kg =
× 10 − 3 electrons = 0.1098 × 10 28 electrons
= 1.098 ×10 27 electrons
(ii) Mass of 1 electron = 9.109 ×10 – 31 kg
Mass of 1 mole of electrons = 9.109 ×10 – 31 × 6.022 × 10 23 = 5.480 × 10 – 7 kg
Charge of 1 electron = 1.602 ×10 – 19 C
Charge of 1 mole of electrons = 1.602 ×10 – 19 × 6.022 × 10 23 C = 9.647 × 10 4 C
1 g or
= 1.098 ×
(ii) Mass of 1 electron = 9.109 ×
Mass of 1 mole of electrons = 9.109 ×
Charge of 1 electron = 1.602 ×
Charge of 1 mole of electrons = 1.602 ×
