An atom will cover length equal to its diameter.
Diameter of carbon atom =

= 1.2 × 10−8 cm
Radius of carbon atom =

1.2×10−8

= 0.6 × 10–8 cm = 0.6 × 10–8×10–2 m
= 0.06 × 10–9 m = 0.06 nm
