Alauddin Hasan was the founder of Bahamani Kingdom. The Kingdom was established by an Ismaili general from Badakhshan, Ala-ud-Din Bahman Shah, after revolting against the Delhi Sultanate of Muhammad bin Tughlaq. The Bahmani Sultanate was a Muslim state of the Deccan in South India. It was the first independent Muslim kingdom in South India. The Kingdom later split into five different offshoots that were collectively known as the Deccan sultanates.
