NITI Aayog came into existence on 1st January, 2015 by replacing erstwhile Planning commission. The NITI Aayog is a policy think tank of the Government of India. While designing strategic and long-term policies and programmes for the Government of India, NITI Aayog also provides relevant technical advice to the Centre and States.
