Bihar Provincial Kisan Sabha was formed in 1929 by Swami Shajanand Saraswati to mobilize peasant's grievance against Zamindars atrocities of occupancy rights. The local leader Karyanand Sharma also connected with Bihar Kisan Sabha, thus sparking the farmers' movements in India.
