A sensitive period refers to a period of development when a child is sensitive to a particular stimuli or type of interaction. During this period, a child remains sensitive to catch and understand the clues of the adult and the words delivered by them. And thus, once the language a child grasps, he/she tries to use it while interacting with his/her parents or elders. Generally, the language learnt during this period, scarcely slips out from the memory screen of the children.
