(3) The Indian National Congress(INC) and is commonly known as Congress. It is one of the major political parties in India. Founded in Year 1885 by members of Theosophical Society Founders: Allan Octavian Hume, Dadabhai Naoroji,Dinshaw Wacha, Womesh Chandra Bonnerjee,Surendranath Banerjee,Monomohun Ghose,Mahadev Govind Ranade and William Wedderburn Led the Indian Independence Movement. It had over 15 million members and over 70 million participants who were involved in the movement. INCS became the leading political party after India’s independence in 1947. The first session of Indian National congress was held in Bombay and was presided by W C Bannerji. The second session was held in Calcutta and was presided over by Dadabhai Naoroji Lucknow Pact, (December 1916), agreement made by the Indian National Congress headed by Maratha leader Bal Gangadhar Tilak and the All-India Muslim League led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah; it was adopted by the Congress at its Lucknow session on December 29 and by the league on Dec. 31,1916. The meeting at Lucknow marked the reunion of the moderate and radical wings of the Congress. The pact dealt both with the structure of the government of India and with the relation of the Hindu and Muslim communities.
