(2) The Chishtî Order is a Sunni Sufi order within the mystic Sufi tradition of Islam. It began in Chisht, a small town near Herat, Afghanistan about 930 CE. The Chishti Order is known for its emphasis on love, tolerance, and openness. The Chishti Order is primarily followed in Afghanistan and Indian subcontinent. Moinuddin Chishti introduced the Chishti Order in Lahore(Punjab) and Ajmer(Rajasthan), sometime in the middle of the 12th century CE. Nizamuddin Auliya also known as Hazrat Nizamuddin,was a Sufi saint of the Chishti Order in the Indian Subcontinent, an order that believed in drawing close to God through renunciation of the world and service to humanity. He is one of the great saints of the Chishti order in India, and arguably the most famous Sufi saint in India. He along with his predecessors they constitute the initial spiritual chain or silsila of the Chisti order,widely prevalent in the Indian subcontinent.
