Wind system

• The wind is an air movement having both direction and speed. It is mainly of 3 types:
• Permanent Winds
  • The winds that blow constantly throughout the year and in in a particular direction are called Permanent Winds.
  • These permanent winds are- Trade wind, Easterlies and westerlies.
• Seasonal Winds
  • The winds that change their direction with onsets of different seasons are called seasonal wind.
  • A monsoon is a type of seasonal wind and prevalent in India.
• ​Local Winds
  • Local Winds blow only during a particular period of the day or year in a small area.
  • The local winds moderates the climate of nearby areas with sudden increase or decrease in the temperature and humidity.
  • For example- Land Breez, Sea Breez, Anabatic and Katabatic winds.
