(C) Farmers in the Indus Valley were the first to spin and weave cotton. In 1929, archaeologists re covered fragments of cotton textiles at Mohenjo Daro, dating between 3250 BCE and 2750 BCE. Cotton seeds found at nearby Mehrgarh in Pakistan have been dated to 5000 BCE. Indus Valley Civilisation was a predominantly secular civilization, and the religious element, though present, did not dominate the scene.
