EI NINO is an abnormal weather pattern caused by the warming of the Pacific Ocean near the equator, off the coast of South America. During El Nino the trade winds weaken which lets the warm water flow east. This warm water displaces the cooler water setting off atmospheric changes that affect weather patterns in many parts of the world. It causes abnormally high rainfall in some parts of the world like Peruvian coast while it created conditions of drought in areas like Indian ocean and parts of South East asia. With a rise in global warming the effect of EL-NINO has also intensified over the years.
