The headquarters of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is at New York (USA). ECOSOC is one of the six principle organs of United Nations. Its main aim is to promote social progress and better standards of life. It comprises of 54 members, one-third of whom are elected every year by the General Assembly of UN, to serve a 3yr term.
