Biogas can be produced from any organic waste (living biomass) such as cow dung, tree leaf, crop trunk, and human waste, hyacinth, oil expelled cake, etc.
It is not that biogas plants cannot be set up in water scarcity areas like Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Barmer, etc. A special type of biogas plant design is available for dry areas in which biogas is produced even after adding fresh dung without adding water.
Rajasthan ranks second in India in the number of cattle. So the availability of dung is abundant here.
So biogas in a good source of energy in Rajasthan.
The state government also decided to install 25000 MW of energy plant in Rajasthan.
