The Prohibition Of Child Marriage Act, 2006 is an act to prohibit the solemnisation of child marriages throughout the country. The act makes child marriage voidable and also prescribes punishments for the perpetrators of child marriages.
This act came in to force 1st November 2007 and extends to all over India and even Indian citizens living beyond India.
